Madame Tussauds Hong Kong says Hello to Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty figure launch (1)Fans clamoured to be the first to get up close to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s newest A-list celebrity as one of the world’s most famous personalities took up residence at the attraction today. 

They cheered as a brand new wax figure of superstar, Hello Kitty, was revealed and raced to be the first to hang out with their heroine in a special interactive changing room scene.

The world famous icon has been loved by all ages around the world and confirmed her status with her trademark pink bow and polka dot dress. Hello Kitty was warmly welcomed by famous actress Priscilla Wong and child star Celine Yeung on her arrival.  Known for their recent roles in ‘Swipe Tap Love’, Priscilla and Celine have always been perfect companions both in drama and in real life. Celine is also a ‘Super Fan’ of Hello Kitty and was thrilled to be the first to meet with her childhood favourite cartoon personality. Their friendship symbolizes the long-term friendship that Hello Kitty has developed with fans across the world. HelloKitty also dressed up in her signature style of frothy pink and plenty of lace, joined the celebration as well.

“We are used to welcoming superstars to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and the enthusiastic response for Hello kitty was no exception,” says Kelly Mak, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. “I am sure guests would love to get up close to Hello Kitty and be able to step right into her world, and use the magnets attached to the wardrobe to mix and match outfits for her. She undoubtedly deserves a place here and we look forward to welcoming all her fans here for some serious Hello Kitty fun.”

The Madame Tussauds team has worked closely with Sanrio Wave Hong Kong Co., Ltd. to ensure total accuracy. “Hello Kitty has grown up with many of us, and we are very excited to launch the wax figure of this childhood and all-time favourite character. The iconic polka dot dress and red bow has made Hello Kitty the superstar at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. I’m sure fans will be delighted to take photos with her, indulge in childhood memories and make new ones along the way,” said representative from Sanrio Wave Hong Kong Co., Ltd..

The figure took four months to create at a cost of HK$1,800,000 and joins a cast of world famous celebrities at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong from fan favourite Super Hero characters to A-list stars like Robert Pattinson and Lady Gaga.
