Madhya Pradesh Tourism all set for ‘Simhastha 2016’

Madhya Pradesh Tourism is all set for the biggest spiritual event “Simhastha 2016” which will begin from 22nd April to 21st May 2016.


As Madhya Pradesh Tourism is celebrating this current year as ‘Madhya Pradesh Tourism Year’ it is power packed with different activities, events, packages with extra ordinary customer experience.

“Special arrangements have been made for all the devotees coming from across the country to have a holy dip. During Simhastha 20,000 administrative, 23 thousand police staff and 60,000 volunteers will be deployed. For holy baths, 7.25 kilometer long ghats will be renovated and constructed with GIS-based arrangements,” informed Additional Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, Ms Tanvi Sundriyal during the Press Conference inviting people from Mumbai to experience the spirit of Simhastha.

The Simhastha Kumbh is an unrivalled celebration in India.4000 hectare land has been acquired for Simhastha which is being developed like a city for religious and socio-economic activities. The 2-month event will begin in April 2016. For administrative arrangements in Mela area, 6 zones, 16 sectors and 42 police stations will be created. First holy bath of Simhastha will take place on April 22, Shahi Snan on May 21 while other holy baths will take place on May 9, 11, 17 and 19, 2016. Panchkroshi Yatra will be held from May 1 to 6, 2016.

Promoted as ‘Holiday on Wheels’  Caravan Tourism gives travelers an access to have an adventure on their own by roads with customized itineraries,’’ told Mrs. Leena Karkera, Resident Manager,  Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, Marketing office, Mumbai.

There are all basic facilities available onboard and even Internet connection, thereby offering a comprehensive approach to the product. There are several packages in three circuits with bases in Jabalpur, Indore and Bhopal.
