Students from the Mahidol University International College Division of Hospitality and Tourism Management organized a Chinatown Experience for students from the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City Philippines.

The visiting students are members of the Hapiyoh Mi Cultural Group, an institutional performing group of the University of the Cordilleras Center for Creative Productions. The students from the Philippines were in town for a special perform dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich imageculture of the Cordilleran people.

Students visited temples and landmarks and walked through vibrant Yaoworat Road, “Little India” and “Thieves Alley” stopping for snacks and photos. Young SKAL members, Phairat Phonphai and Panpitti Chalermvisitpol served as chaperones to ensure a safe adventure and facilitate networking with the future leaders of the tourism industry from Thailand and the Philippines, under the watchful eye of university lecturer and Director of Young SKAL Thailand, Scott Smith. “The MUIC students did a great job planning and leading students from the University of the Cordilleras on the Chinatown Experience. It’s amazing how quickly students created networks with each other and formed friendships that can last a lifetime.” said Phairat Phonphai, Financial Data Analyst Thomson Reuters and Young SKAL member.
