November 2013, Singapore: Orchard Hotel Singapore brings you our Life-sized Gingerbread House this Christmas, exquisitely decorated with Executive Chef Paul Then’s Peranakan-inspired heritage! 

Relish in divine Nonya treats, immerse yourself in the Festive spirit with the grandeur of our 15-feet live Christmas tree at the Clock Tower in the heart of our Lobby, dance around with Santa Claus and his Santarinas, sway along to live Christmas carolling and dine at our Festive buffets with tempting spreads this holiday season!   Not forgetting to bring cheer to the less fortunate by ‘Adopt a Wishing Star’ from our Christmas Wishing Tree.

Take a step into our Gingerbread House exuding the Peranakan culture with quaint Straits Chinese decorations and goodies like Nonya Pineapple Cookies and Kueh Bangkit, along with a delightful mix of traditional festive offerings!  Check out the latest take on Peranakan food with a modern twist!

In conjunction with our recent launch of Chef Paul’s Baba Theatre Kitchen with authentic Straits Chinese dishes, Chef has outdone himself yet again with the star of the Gingerbread House – a perfect East meets West marriage: Nonya Roast Turkey with Buah Keluak Spices!   The bird will be marinated with Buah Keluak Curry Spices and slow-baked in the oven.  Tuck into succulent turkey meat scrumptiously paired with “Nonya Caviar” aka Buah Keluak which has been fried with minced pork and spices to create the ultimate savoury pleasure.

Christmas Goodies are available at the Baba Gingerbread House from 21 November to 25 December 2013, open daily from 11:00am to 9:00pm.

Orchard Hotel Brings Christmas Cheer

In the festive spirit of giving, Orchard Hotel will be inviting children from Fei Yue Community Services Family Service Centre and MINDSville@Napiri for a special Christmas party on 11 December 2013.  To celebrate the festive season, we will be collecting these children’s wishes and hanging them onto our Charity Christmas Tree in Orchard Café from 21 November, where staff and guests will be encouraged to ‘Adopt a Wishing Star’, to fulfil these children’s wishes.

This Wishing Tree initiative is to bring warm festive cheer to the less privileged children and for them to enjoy Christmas as the rest of us do, with a great buffet spread and their desired Christmas gift from ‘Santa’. The children from Fei Yue Community Services are from low income families, and MINDSville is dedicated to give special care for children with intellectual disability. Both charities have been selected together with the National Council of Social Services.

In support of our Charity Christmas Tree, Orchard Hotel’s Facebook page will be launching the ‘Orchard Hotel Wishing Tree!’ campaign from 18 November 2013. Fans will be encouraged to share their Christmas wishes on the app, and the most creative wishes will be awarded with attractive festive prizes.

For every wish posted on Orchard Hotel’s virtual wishing tree in Facebook, we will donate a Christmas Tree Gingerbread Cookie with a personal baba touch by our Executive Chef Paul Then and presented personally to these special children.

ORCHARD CAFÉ (lobby level)

Experience a delightful mix of gastronomic indulgences with Orchard Café’s endless buffet spread including Baked Honey Ham with Satay Spices, Nonya Laksa with Boston Lobster and Pinenut Pesto, Spring Chicken Ballotine with Wild Rice and Duck Liver Mousse, Maroon Lobsters, Bay Clams, Mediterranean Seafood “Bouillabaisse” Style, and many more!   Sweeten your palate with traditional Nonya desserts and festive delights of Snow Floating Island, Christmas Nougat, Christmas Brandy Fruit Cake, Christmas Chocolate Yulu Log Cake and not forgetting our prized Durian Pengat!

Orchard Café’s Christmas Eve Buffet is served from 12.00pm – 2.30pm at $68 per adult, $34 per child for lunch; and from 6.00pm – 10:00pm at $98 per adult, $47 per child for dinner.

On Christmas day, Lunch is served from 12.00pm – 3.30pm at $98 per adult, $49 per child; and Buffet Dinner from 6.00pm – 10.00pm at $98 per adult and $49 per child.

Orchard Café offers Pre-Festive Buffet Lunches, High Tea and Dinners from 1 to 23 and 26 to 30 December.  Pre-festive Buffet Lunch on Mondays to Saturdays starts from 12.00pm – 2.30pm at $52 per adult, $26 per child.   Pre-festive Buffet Dinner is served from 6.00pm – 10.00pm on Mondays to Sundays at $68 per adult, $34 per child. Pre-festive Buffet High Tea is served from 3.00pm – 5.00pm on Fridays and Saturdays at $38 per adult, $17 per child. Pre-Festive Sunday Brunch is served from 12.00pm – 3.30pm on Sundays at $78 per adult, $39 per child. 

HUA TING (Level 2)

For an Oriental twist to your festive feasting, Masterchef Lap Fai’s Christmas creations are uniquely put together into various Set Menu choices for your celebration. Satiate your tummies with tempting dishes like Braised Cream of Lobster in Whole Young Coconut Baked with Filo Pastry, Braised Whole Abalone (10 Heads) with Spike Sea Cucumber and Seasonal Greens in Superior Oyster Sauce, Sautéed Pacific Clams with Seasonal Greens in Homemade XO sauce, Baked Pork Ribs Marinated with Taro Curd Sauce and more!

Hua Ting’s Christmas Set Menus are available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for lunch from 11.00am – 2.30pm and dinner from 6.30pm – 10.30pm at $98 or $118 per person (min. 2 persons).  Set menus for 8 and 10 persons are also available at $788 and $1188 respectively.
