Maldives presenting its sunny side of life at MITT, Moscow

Maldives is participating in the Moscow International&Travel&Tourism Exhibition (MITT) which commenced on March 23 in Moscow. Maldives Marketing&PR Corporation (MMPRC) along with 19 companies with more than 40 representatives from the Maldives tourism industry is showcasing their travel products in the travel show this year. Acting Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Haris Mohamed, is leading the Maldives delegation.

MITT is one of the top five travel exhibitions in the world and is highly valued by the international tourism community. This is the 23rd edition of the show which began in 1994. With over 1,800 participating companies and more than 192 countries and regions, MITT is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. In addition, it enables participants to increase awareness of their destination, present their new programs and gain a real feel for the Russian travel market.

During the four days of the exhibition, the Maldives delegation will meet the travel industry professionals and discuss on potential future collaborations to promote the Maldives in Russia and Eastern Europe. MITT is the major event that Maldives participates in the region to attract tourists and investors into the country.

Maldives stand gives visitors a contemporary look while revealing the country’s unique tourism product. Maldives stand is located in the Forum Pavilion (no. F355), with destinations from Africa, Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

Russia is one of the top generating markets to the Maldives, holding 4.9% of the market share in January 2016. A total of 44,323 tourists were recorded from Russia last year.
