Love your mother like an Italian this Mother’s Day at 208 Duecento Otto, where the extraordinary matriarchs of the family will be celebrated with four specially designed dishes that have mother in mind. Catering to feminine tastes, lighter and sweeter alternatives to 208’s traditional Italian brunch and rustic a la carte menu will be the theme on Sunday, 10 May.
Families celebrating Mother’s Day at 208 Duecento Otto will be welcomed with a complimentary bottle of Italian wine to share; it will be the perfect accompaniment to Chef Alan Marchetti’s antipasti Tonno rosso, burrata, pomodori secchi e basilico fritto (Seared tuna with burrata and sun blushed tomatoes, $168); primi Garganelli gamberi e zucchine (Garganelli pasta with prawns and zucchini, $198), and secondi Rombo al forno con crosta di patate, Asparagi e caviale (Oven-baked turbot with pea purée, asparagus and caviar, $288).
To round off the meal, Chef Alan has created a delectable dessert, Cassata semifreddo con amarene (Ricotta parfait with dried fruits and nuts, served with sour cherries and pistachio sauce, $78) specially for the occasion.
208 Duecento Otto – Seared tuna with burrata and sun blushed tomatoes
Regulars fear not, 208’s brunch favourites continue, featuring a variety of authentic Italian pizza, pasta and egg dishes including Eggs Benedict(poached eggs, mortadella, hollandaise and toasted foccacia $118), Steak and egg (skirt steak, fried egg, roasted cherry tomatoes, patate peperonata, fett’unta $198) and the classic Penne bufala D.O.P (penne, grilled peppers, zucchini, basil and mozzarella $158). Brunch-goers can choose the option of an additional $250 for free-flow drinks till 3pm including Peroni, white wine, red wine and Prosecco.
