Hawaií Tourism Oceania (HTO) would like to inform the Australian MICE industry that management of the Hawai‘i Convention Center (HCC) has now been officially handed over to AEG Facilities.

AEG are now responsible for the management and operation of the HCC, as well as working collaboratively with the Hawaií Tourism Authorities (HTA’s) “Meet Hawaii” team in marketing the convention center and the Hawaiian Islands as a premier business destination.

HTA and its board of directors will continue efforts to study enhanced uses for the convention center, including the development of a center for Hawaiian music and dance that will strive to honour and perpetuate Hawaii’s unique host culture, while creating an attraction to draw visitors and residents to the facility.

Holly Ballard, representative for Hawaií Tourism Oceania’s MICE market has welcomed the announcement saying “Most conference and meetings providers in Australia will be familiar with AEG.  We are excited to be working alongside them as they offer over 20 years of experience and manage a network of elite worldwide convention centers.  With a presence of more than 100 venues on five continents, including Australia they are well positioned to take the HCC to the next level”

Buyers are invited to visit The Hawaiian Islands Stand (2832) at AIME 2014 to find out more about the HCC.
