Mr Deb will take the reins of the property with immediate effect as it prepares to launch on up-market Surin Beach on Phuket’s west coast, showcasing 66-rooms and suites designed in elegant, contemporary Thai style, 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport.

Having worked for over 19 years in the hospitality industry with prestigious brands such a Grand Hyatt, Pullman and Marriott in India and Malaysia, Mr Deb arrives at MANATHAI Surin Phuket to begin a new chapter of an already storied career.

“I am very excited to be joining MANATHAI Surin Phuket and a group which is full of highly experienced professionals who are developing MANATHAI as a hospitality group cherishing values of culture, personal service and quality in beachfront locations,” said Mr Deb.

“MANATHAI Surin Phuket will fit perfectly into a well established philosophy that has seen the group open resorts in Hua Hin, Khao Lak and Koh Samui this year and we look forward to complimenting the success and style that has distinguished our openings to date by welcoming guests at the beginning next month from all corners on the world to the resort and to Surin as one of the most sophisticated destinations on the island.”

True to its ethos, MANATHAI Surin Phuket features a distinctly Thai flavor throughout the resort, in design, culinary experiences and service acumen.

Thai textures and fabrics are found extensively in the resort’s modern facilities. Materials used include rattan, elegant wooden screens, vibrant local silks, wooden and terracotta flooring and fashionable fabrics and hangings. Outside, lotus ponds add a sense of serenity to the grounds, which feature a pool enclosed by three-metre high hedges, creating a naturally private space, rooms with direct pool access and sunken pool seating.

Cuisine features prominently in the experience for all guests. The pool bar offers light fare while signature restaurant Pad Thai features the iconic Thai dish and a range of other traditional Thai dishes cooked with authentic precision. Pad Thai serves breakfast before seguing into an all day dining restaurant and a specialty Thai experience for dinner. Cooking classes are also available.
