unnamed (3)Expansion plans for Australian hoteliers Mantra Group are well on track with the announcements of the company’s 50thhotel in Queensland – Mantra Midtown Apartments in Brisbane.  The addition firmly establishes the Group as the largest accommodation provider in the State, with over 8,000 rooms offered across its Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree hotel brands.

The hotel marking the 50th milestone, Mantra Midtown Apartments, is a 143-room full serviced apartment hotel located on Charlotte Street.  It has operated as an independent hotel since opening in 2012 prior to rebranding as Mantra this week.  The property therefore offers fresh, contemporary style studios and apartments and facilities including outdoor swimming pool and BBQ area; boardroom for 14 people; and the on-site 127 Bar & Bistro.

Mantra’s Brisbane hotel network now totals seven properties having added four hotels in the Brisbane CBD in the last 6 months.

Mantra Group CEO said the company’s expansion in Brisbane was part of a long term view for the market.

“We’ve emerged from a period where Brisbane had an under supply of hotels which has now been rectified.  We are confident that the demand in Brisbane will continue to grow over the next five years sparked by post G20 interest and we are in a great position to offer the most comprehensive mid-range accommodation for the city.”

As the name suggests, Mantra Midtown is situated in a centralised location between the main precincts of Brisbane in the centre of the city.  Within a two kilometre radius are South Bank attractions and venues such as the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and the Convention & Exhibition Centre; Suncorp Stadium and the RNA Showgrounds; while a short stroll from the hotel is Queen Street Mall and Eagle Street Pier.

Rates start from $199 in Studio apartment and from $229 in a 1 bedroom apartment, available to book

Mantra Group’s other Brisbane hotels include recent additions Mantra on Edward, Mantra on the Quay and Mantra Terrace Hotel as well as established hotels, Mantra South Bank and Mantra on Queen.  There is also a BreakFree hotel in Fortitude Valley.

Across its 50-strong Queensland network the Group has Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree hotels and resorts located in Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Cairns, Magnetic Island, Airlie Beach, Hervey Bay, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. A new build Mantra hotel in Townsville is planned for completion in 2016.
