The MAPFRE Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Ignacio Baeza as Chairman of the Board of Directors and of the Management Committee of MAPFRE ASISTENCIA, in replacement of Rafael Senén. Also, Alberto Berges was appointed General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of MAPFRE ASISTENCIA.
Baeza is Vice Chairman of MAPFRE, and to date was CEO of the Iberia Territorial Area. In this new stage, he will be joined by Alberto Berges, as the new General Manager of MAPFRE ASISTENCIA. Berges had been until now the most senior manager of the Group’s Corporate Business and Clients Area, a role that now falls on Rafael Senén, who has been the chairman of MAPFRE ASISTENCIA for the past eight years.
“We are certain,” declared Antonio Huertas (MAPFRE Chairman and CEO), “that Ignacio Baeza will be able to continue the successful path outlined by Rafael Senén in recent years, who spearheaded the expansion of ASISTENCIA until it became the third largest in the world in its sector, with over one billion euros in turnover.”
