CruiseAway by Dreamlines has announced the appointment of long-standing industry expert Marcel Mayer as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at parent company Dreamlines’ headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
As CCO, Mr Mayer will oversee the ‘Dreamlines Package’ department, expanding and internationalising the successful arm of Europe’s largest online cruise travel portal.
“We aim to create more individual travel experiences and truly unique holidays that customers can only book through the Dreamlines brand,” Mr Mayer said.
“We want to offer seasoned cruise customers and cruise novices alike a memorable holiday experience that extends far beyond the actual cruise.”
The company enjoys considerable success with this department in Germany, and Mr Mayer’s first priority is to intensify the product development for the Australian market and gradually roll out the Dreamlines Package department into other markets.
Mr Mayer has 25 years of experience in the tourism industry, with a strong focus on product development and cruises.
Before joining Dreamlines, he worked as a consultant on a wide range of national and international projects, with clients including the TUI Group.
From 2011 through 2015 Mr Mayer was an executive in several companies operated by Berge & Meer Touristik.
Prior to this, Mayer held management positions in a variety of companies, including Panameo Erlebnisreisen and E-hoi.
