With a strong background in social media, Jones and his position represent an ever-growing component of marketing today.

Jones joined the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort in Florida in an on-property capacity on June 24, 2013 to develop and hone the Marco Island hotel's social media marketing strategy.

Jones’ professional background began in advertising and marketing, which he studied at Florida International University and then put to use at a marketing agency. Following that, Jones managed social media for a health care agency while also working as a freelancer with a Miami-based boutique public-relations firm where he developed social media campaigns for select clients.

Considering the many enticements of this resort near Naples, Jones will be kept busy as he crafts and conveys messages to engage current and future guests. From white-sand beaches, to the rolling greens of the golf courses, the hotel is a quintessential Floridian paradise. Its 727 rooms, including 63 suites and 56,888 square feet of total meeting space, translate to a broad market with which Jones looks forward to interacting.

Jones’s arrival ushers in a new precedent for the Naples area resort. While social media represents a tremendous area of opportunity for Marco Island Marriott, it also requires a specific skill set. Jones, for example, will not only develop creative marketing campaigns on various social channels, he will also utilize his proficiency in analytical systems (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure the efficacy of those campaigns.

Jones’s background, creative interests (painting and drawing) and proven capabilities will serve as valuable assets at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, and his arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Marketing and eCommerce discipline.
