Marie France van Damme Announce Its First U.S. Boutique, Opening This Fall in The Exclusive Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel; Its Ninth Store Worldwide

the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, announces the opening of the brand’s first U.S. boutique in September 2017 in Los Angeles, within the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel.  Established in 1928 in Hong Kong, The Peninsula is a living legend, the name synonymous with luxurious comfort and impeccable service. A veritable retreat offering a blend of the best Eastern and Western hospitality in an atmosphere of unmatched classical grandeur and timeless elegance.

Located on the entrance level of the Peninsula Beverly Hills (9882 South Santa Monica Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California, 90212, phone TK) the new 464-square foot store will offer Marie France Van Damme’s luxury resort and ready to wear lines; Beach Bridal collection; and range of accessories. As Marie France Van Damme’s ninth boutique worldwide, and first free-standing U.S. boutique, the store will showcase the brand’s exclusive collections in two distinct spaces; one featuring evening dresses, and the other, resort wear, bathing suits, and caftans, so as to offer the best of both worlds: luxe day resort wear, and chic evening looks. The boutique will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., catering to both guests of the hotel and visitors.

“Los Angeles is an epicentre for luxury and fashion. We are thrilled to be opening our first U.S. based free-standing boutique in the Peninsula Beverly Hills. We have many clients in California and now will be able to provide an exceptional atmosphere to experience our full collection,” says Marie France Van Damme. “I could not have imagined a better location for our first U.S. store. I live in Hong Kong, and my company is based there, so the Peninsula feels like a home away from home, perhaps because the Peninsula began as a family business in Hong Kong, like my own company.  There is a special history and connection to this property, with its legendary location and touch of East meets West, like our brand, which shares similar aspirations and customers across the globe.”

Marie France Van Damme designs a collection of understated, sophisticated pieces for the woman who travels the world in style.  Collections are not distinguished by season, but relevance.  Inspired by the style of the iconic 1960s Hollywood jet set, her sophisticated luxury resort wear and ready to wear lines are made for L.A. and the contemporary California lifestyle. “Like me, our customer travels around the world, and she needs to find things that will look beautiful day as well as night. It’s about packing light and packing right and being able to effortlessly dress these pieces up and down, from the beach to a cocktail or dinner in the evening,” says Marie France Van Damme.

The new boutique in the Peninsula Beverly Hills will open the week of the 2017 Emmy Awards and carry a subtle yet striking collection of ‘Dolce Vita’ essentials including day dresses and evening wear; a return to the glamorous roots of resort wear with a muted palette of silver and gold, hand embroidery and opulent fabrics, from French lace to metallic-toned Italian weaves and featherweight Chinese silks. Signature pieces such as the Boubou caftan provide instant glamour. As the average temperature in Los Angeles is 70 degrees with even cooler sunsets, the boutique will also offer a collection of gold and silver sweaters as transitional season essentials perfect for layering. Whether it’s evening wear or day dress, a silk caftan or city pajama, swimwear, or sweaters, Marie France Van Damme’s philosophy remains the same: “What you wear should always give you glamour. Glamour without the fuss and bother,” says Marie France Van Damme.

Designed to evoke Marie France Van Damme’s signature style, which blends subtle Asian influences and elegant simplicity, the boutique will feature teak wood, bronze panels, and embossed crocodile leathers with luxurious textiles and finishes that can be found in her home as well as her flagships in London and Hong Kong. To celebrate the opening, the store will host a series of special events and introduce an in-store campaign photographed in Hong Kong by Herbert Ypma.

The new Los Angeles boutique is the latest addition to the Marie France Van Damme brand, which has rapidly expanded since its inception in 2011 to include an impressive range of ready-to-wear, resort wear, swimwear, sunglasses, perfume, and candles. The designer recently launched an eighth namesake boutique in Bangkok’s luxury shopping and entertainment complex Gaysorn Village and her seventh in December 2016 in Hong Kong’s prestigious Elements shopping mall, which is Marie France Van Damme’s second Hong Kong store. The company opened its very first store in Hong Kong’s acclaimed International Finance Centre (IFC) mall in September 2013. Four years later Marie France Van Damme has nine stores worldwide, proving that small curated stores are still very relevant. The company currently has 100 retail locations in some of the world’s most desirable places including Le Bon Marché, Harrods, Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Neiman Marcus and such exclusive resorts as Aman and One&Only, among other locations worldwide, as well as stores in London, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket.
