Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, announces the opening of a Paris pop-up inside Le Bon Marché on May 1 through May 31. Best known for her silk caftans and timeless collection of luxury resort wear, Marie France Van Damme’s designs have become a “must-have” for the jet set.

Located on the second floor of Le Bon Marché  (24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris, France) in the Savoir Faire department, the new 100 square-foot pop-up will feature Marie France Van Damme’s summer 2019 collection of ‘Dolce Vita’ essentials, including glamorous summer dresses and evening wear, striking metallic swimsuits, and flowy silk caftans. Inspired by the legendary Splendido hotel and Hotel du Cap, the installation will transport clientele from an airport terminal with a dashboard listing departure flight numbers, to a beach oasis with silver coated palm trees, inflatable buoys, and branded metallic beach bags.

“It’s about featherweight pieces that can be worn from morning to evening, that are easy to pack and to care for. Our MFVD woman travels light and travels smart, says Marie France Van Damme. “I call it the ‘jet-set jet-pack.’ Wear a caftan at the beach in the afternoon, wear it with chunky jewels and killer heels at night. Our pieces have a wear-anywhere appeal from Paris to Portofino to Dubai to Miami.”

To complete the perfect summer look, Marie France looked to her girlfriends to collaborate and offer the ultimate one-stop for vacation style. The pop-up will offer onsite beach make-up application; a one-on-one Remodelage consultation with a representative from Paris-based Martine de Richeville’s team; and travel-sized skin care essentials to prepare one’s skin for the beach from Dr. Barbara Sturm’s luxury skincare and wellness line, available as a gift with purchase. Customers will also have an opportunity to design their own one and only boubou caftan, which Marie France Van Damme will then produce in her atelier. Customers who purchase the limited-edition caftan can enter a raffle to win a two-night stay at the One&Only Reethi Rah luxury resort in the Maldives.
