Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based company known for its globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, announced today the arrival of its Spring 2017 collection in Paris at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche. Located on the second floor between Etro and Roland Mouret, the collection features an exclusive selection of “essential” pieces from the new lifestyle collection including Marie France Van Dame’s signature little black croco dress, white Boubou caftan and metallic skirt lined in silk chiffon.

The Spring 2017 collection of “Dolce Vita” essentials, is a return to resort wear’s glamorous roots, with a muted palette of silver and nude, hand embroideries and opulent fabrics from French lace to metallic-toned Italian weaves and featherweight Chinese silks, hand-crafted in her atelier. Complemented by simple and sharp shapes, the collection is enriched with Marie France’s signature intricate embroideries and black and white essentials.

“Paris is the fashion capital of the world. We are honored to arrive in Paris at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche,” says Marie France Van Damme. “So many of my dear friends live in Paris. We could not have asked for a better destination to debut our collection in the city.”

As Marie France continues to expand her presence worldwide focusing on cities that not only inspire her, but also appeal to her sophisticated, jet-set clientele, Marie France additionally introduced a “limited edition” collection of bags with Paris-based designer Jay Ahr this season.  In 2013, Marie France Van Damme introduced a perfume in collaboration with Monsieur Blaise Mautin, who developed the fragrance for the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme. When presenting her collection in Paris each season, Marie France resides at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme designed by architect and her friend Ed Tuttle, who is also behind her favorite resort, Amanpuri in Phuket, which is a constant source of inspiration for Marie France.

Since launching in 2011, Marie France Van Damme has 100 retail locations in some of the world’s most desirable places including Harrods, Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Neiman Marcus and such exclusive resorts as Aman and One & Only, among other locations worldwide, as well as her stores in London, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket. While Marie France Van Damme is available in St. Tropez and Cannes, Le Bon Marché marks the French Canadian-born designer’s first entry into Paris, a city that has always been of inspiration.

In October 2017, Marie France Van Damme will introduce her eighth boutique in Sanya, China at the One&Only Sanya resort.

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche

Acquired by LVMH in 1984, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche was the first department store in the world. It opened in 1852 in Paris at the instigation of Aristide Boucicaut and his wife Marguerite. They were both in favor of “a new kind of store that would thrill all the senses”. Combining unconventionality and elegance, this unique space designed by the architect Louis-Charles Boileau and the engineer Gustave Eiffel displayed a singular style influenced by the creative vitality of Paris’s Rive Gauche. Original creations and limited editions stood alongside a selection of the most beautiful objects from all over the world. Women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, accessories, tableware and design, but also cultural exhibitions, furniture collections and contemporary works of art filled the space and generated surprise. Here, as in the beginning, discovery and amazement are the foundations of a way of life that transforms shopping into an art de vivre.
