Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, introduces the second edition of the MFVD Beach Bridal collection, launching this month in conjunction with New York Bridal Fashion Week.  A simple, elegant, and feminine bridal collection designed for getting married in the sand, the 2018 MFVD Beach Bridal collection is a complete wardrobe for a bride and her bridesmaids to wear throughout their wedding week: before, during, and after the ceremony; from beach to honeymoon, from morning to night.

Like Marie France Van Damme’s first MFVD BB collection, which launched in May 2017, the new 2018 MFVD BB collection is the perfect week-long, mix-and-match bridal wardrobe designed to be worn from city to resort and from day to night. The transcendent appeal of the new MFVD BB collection provides a bride with the perfect wedding wardrobe – white swimsuits and vaporous cover-ups, boubou caftans, and the perfect white lace dress for the wedding or the after party. Unlike many bridal lines on the market, this is a complete wedding capsule collection that takes a bride from the rehearsal dinner to the honeymoon.

Available in April at Marie France Van Damme city stores and online, the 2018 MFVD Beach Bridal collection consists of 20 mix-and-match pieces ($500 to $5000 USD) that evoke the spirit of an elegant coastal setting from Phuket to Malibu. From a glamorous ceremony on the Riviera to a bohemian island resort or a coastal wedding in Miami, the MFVD BB collection provides a bride with the perfect Marie France Van Damme lifestyle wardrobe, designed to make her feel like a princess.

“The idea came from seeing a young bride in Amanpuri, Phuket, who came down to the beach with her high heels and puffy long dress,” says Marie France Van Damme. “She sank into the sand, the dress overwhelmed her. A bride who marries on the beach should dress to feel beautiful and at ease throughout her entire wedding week and honeymoon experience, during this special time of her life. Anyone can fall in love with these gorgeous pieces, as MFVD BB is an affair of the heart. Brides and bridesmaids can take their wardrobes back to the city and wear these timeless separates again and again. A white lace dress can be worn on many occasions. Much of the collection can work for any woman, anywhere in the world, even if she’s not getting married.”

In celebration of the launch, Marie France will introduce a digital presentation, film, and campaign in conjunction with New York Bridal Fashion Week, photographed at the Hong Kong seashore by Herbert Ypma, author of Nomad Deluxe (Assouline) and the Hip Hotels series. MFVD will also host a series of in-store events this year.

“We shot the new campaign in Hong Kong because I live next to the sea in what feels like an exclusive resort, 15 minutes away from the buzzing city of Hong Kong. Most people, and most Hong Kongers, don’t know that paradise exists right here. That you don’t have to ‘fly away’ to find white sand beaches and blue water. We have all this here in Hong Kong, which served as the perfect backdrop for the new Beach Bridal collection,” says Marie France Van Damme.

The new MFVD BB collection is the latest addition to the Marie France Van Damme brand, which has rapidly expanded since its inception in 2011 to include an impressive range of ready-to-wear, resort wear, swimwear, sunglasses, perfume, and candles. The designer recently launched an eleventh boutique in Miami at Bal Harbour Shops and a store in Marrakech at La Mamounia in January 2018, a Los Angeles boutique in September 2017 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, a boutique in Bangkok’s luxury shopping and entertainment complex Gaysorn Village in 2017, and her seventh store in December 2016 in Hong Kong’s prestigious Elements shopping mall, which is Marie France Van Damme’s second Hong Kong store. The company opened its very first store in Hong Kong’s acclaimed International Finance Centre (IFC) mall in September 2013. Five years later, Marie France Van Damme has eleven stores worldwide, proving that small curated stores are still very relevant. The company currently has 100 retail locations in some of the world’s most desirable shopping destinations.
