Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally-influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear, looked to the jet-set woman for her Spring | Summer 2019 collection. The chic traveler is elegant, confident, powerful, and most likely traveling in the front of the plane. She will land in many hours in Hong Kong looking as good as she does now. She will go from the airport to her favorite breakfast spot, still looking impeccably flawless, and spend the day attending gallery openings and meetings; she has a full agenda. By evening, she will throw on a few exquisite big jewels, killer heels, and be perfect for a smart dinner out. She is without a doubt a Marie France Van Damme woman.

The designer translated her inspiration this season into a striking collection of day-to-evening essentials that provides the perfect Spring–Summer wardrobe. Flowing, airy looks conjure up afternoons spent by the pool. Let it be in Dubai, Malibu, Miami, London, Los Angeles, or Hong Kong, the collection is designed to have a wear-anywhere appeal, with glamorous metallic swimsuits and vaporous cover-ups, boubou caftans, and the perfect cocktail dress for evening. Each piece can be mixed and matched to suit different occasions.

Incorporating her signature black, white, and gold palette with Marie France’s signature intricate embroideries and luxurious fabrics, the new collection exudes effortless glamour. The metallic slip dress is the perfect go-to dress for a sophisticated evening statement. New this season is a striking new Black Gold Rose jacquard collection of delicate evening dresses crafted in the softest crinkle silk chiffon, and short jackets and skirts designed to be layered with long metallic blouses. Opulent fabrics range from French lace to metallic-toned Italian weaves, and featherweight Chinese silks. Retailing from $500 to $2000, the Spring 2019 collection is in stores now.

Best known for her silk caftans and timeless collection of elegant resort wear, Marie France Van Damme’s designs have become a “must-have” for the jet set and those who appreciate a timeless luxury product. “My collections are very much resort and Dolce Vita-inspired,” says Marie France Van Damme. Whether it’s evening wear or a day dress, silk caftan, city pyjama, or swimwear, Marie France Van Damme’s philosophy remains the same: “I think some things have changed but no matter where you are, women will always want to look beautiful and glamorous.”

Founded in 2011, Marie France Van Damme’s luxury resort wear line has gained international appeal with a presence at luxury retailers in Europe and Asia including Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, and Saks Fifth Avenue, in addition to select luxury resorts including Aman Resorts and the One&Only Resorts. While many luxury brands are shying away from retail, Marie France Van Damme continues to open new stores across the globe, with boutiques located in some of the world’s most iconic luxury travel and shopping capitals.

Marie France Van Damme has rapidly expanded since its inception in 2011 to include an impressive range of ready-to-wear, resort wear, swimwear, sunglasses, perfume, and candles. In October 2018, Marie France Van Damme opened her first store in The Middle East at The Dubai Mall and her thirteenth boutique in Las Vegas at Wynn Plaza, in company with Hermes, Celine, and Louis Vuitton’s only permanent men’s store in the country. She launched a store in Marrakech at La Mamounia in January 2018 and a boutique in Miami at Bal Harbour Shops, a Los Angeles boutique in September 2017 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, a boutique in Bangkok’s luxury shopping and entertainment complex Gaysorn Village in 2017, and her seventh store in December 2016 in Hong Kong’s prestigious Elements shopping mall, which is Marie France Van Damme’s second Hong Kong store. The company opened its very first store in Hong Kong’s acclaimed International Finance Centre (IFC) mall in September 2013. Five years later, Marie France Van Damme has thirteen stores worldwide, proving that small curated stores are still very relevant. The company currently has 100 retail locations in some of the world’s most desirable shopping destinations.
