Marie France van Damme Introduces Beach Bridal

April 29, 2017 Lifestyle No Comments Email Email

Marie France Van Damme, the Hong Kong-based designer known for her globally influenced line of luxury resort, swim, and ready-to-wear introduces MFVD Beach Bridal. A simple, elegant and feminine bridal collection designed for getting married in the sand. MFVD BB is a complete wardrobe for a bride and her bridesmaids to wear throughout their week at the resort: before, during and after the ceremony, from beach to honeymoon, from morning to night.
Available as of May 2017 at Marie France Van Damme city stores and online, MFVD BB’s day-to-night wardrobe consists of 20 mix-and-match pieces ($500 to $5000 USD) that evoke the spirit of an elegant resort setting from Phuket to Santorini. From a glamorous ceremony on the Riviera to a bohemian island or coastal wedding, the MFVD BB collection provides a bride with the perfect Marie France Van Damme lifestyle wardrobe, designed to make her feel like a princess.

Marie France drew inspiration from the beach so that each piece in the collection connotes a unique sense of place that suits the bride’s surroundings: white swimsuits and vaporous cover-ups, white lace negligees, silk pyjama sets, boubou caftans, day and night dresses–including white lace dresses perfect to wear to the rehearsal dinner, or as the second dress of the evening for the party after the ceremony.

“The idea came from seeing a young bride in Amanpuri, Phuket, who came down to the beach with her high heels and puffy long dress,” says Marie France Van Damme. “She sank into the sand, the dress overwhelmed her. A bride who marries on the beach should dress to feel beautiful and at ease throughout her entire wedding week and honeymoon experience, during this special time of her life.”

Realizing that a simple, elegant bridal resort wear collection would be a natural extension of her brand, which is designed to be worn from city to resort and from day to night, Marie France created MFVD BB, “a perfect week-long, mix-and-match bridal wardrobe.”

With a campaign photographed at the Hong Kong seashore by Herbert Ypma of the Hip Hotel Series, the MFVD BB collection features luxurious silk chiffon, French white lace from Calais, and hand-beaded work. In a muted palette of whites, silver and nude, and hints of platinum and gold metallic sparkle, signature pieces like the Boubou caftan provide instant glamour and can be worn anywhere, from resort to beach to dinner. Bridesmaids can choose long skirts in metallic hues of silver, gold, and dark silver, with matching camis.

“Anyone can fall in love with these gorgeous pieces, as MFVD BB is an affair of the heart. Brides and bridesmaids can take their wardrobes back to the city and wear these timeless separates again and again. A white lace dress can be worn for a hundred different occasions. Much of the collection can work for any woman, anywhere in the world, even if she’s not getting married.”
In celebration of the launch, Marie France will host a series of events for clients and the wedding and events community this year. The MFVD BB campaign will also include the introduction of a MFVD BB Instagram account and marketing campaign in Fall 2017.

This collection is the latest addition to the Marie France Van Damme brand, which has rapidly expanded since its inception in 2011 to include an impressive range of ready-to-wear, resort wear, swimwear, sunglasses, perfume, and candles. The designer launched a seventh namesake boutique in December 2016 in Hong Kong’s prestigious Elements shopping mall, which is Marie France Van Damme’s second Hong Kong store. In October 2017, Marie France Van Damme introduces her eighth boutique in Sanya, China with One&Only Resorts. The company currently has 100 retail locations in some of the world’s most desirable places including Le Bon Marché, Harrods, Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Neiman Marcus and such exclusive resorts as Aman and One&Only, among other locations worldwide, as well as stores in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Phuket.
