The Annual Mariposa Farm and Ranch Tour is being held Saturday September 24th from 10 am to 5 pm. This all day event brings visitors from all over California to tour this rural ranching community located just outside Yosemite National Park. The ticket ($10 per person, $25 per carload) includes entrance to five locations throughout the serene farming region of historic Mariposa County. Tour Raw Roots Farm, which is dedicating more than three acres of fresh grown produce to the event and stop by the Epic Alpacas Ranch to nuzzle a wide range of alpaca breeds and purchase luxurious, high-quality alpaca wool products. The Mariposa-Yosemite Slate Quarry will highlight how they use traditional techniques to harvest colorful and attractive flagstone with innovative and sustainable new practices that protect the landscape. Wander the grounds of the bucolic Sierra Cider orchard, taste the range of craft, small-batch ciders and enjoy demonstrations from local sustainability experts on water conservation.
These locations all offer informative workshops, celebrated Yosemite-region artists will have their work on display, and certified Made in Mariposa products will be available for purchase.
