Festival d’été de Québec, one of the oldest music festivals in North America, returns to the culturally unique setting of Québec City for its eagerly anticipated annual celebration from July 5 to 15, 2018.

The programming for the 51st edition of this musical extravaganza remains true to the Festival’s long-standing mission: a keenly diverse roster featuring international headliners, the latest trending talents, and tomorrow’s big names for a ticket price that just can’t be beat – less than $80 U.S. for the entire 11-day Festival. From maintaining its great pricing and broad programming to the recent addition of more screens and enhanced sound on its outdoor stages, the Festival enhances that mission every year.

From Rock, Pop, French Song, Electro, Hip Hop, Blues, Country, Jazz and World Music to intimate performances, family activities, after-hours shows and megastars on Canada’s largest and one of the biggest outdoor stages in North America – the Bell stage, located in a historic battlefield park overlooking the St. Lawrence River – there will be something for everyone. Stay tuned for artist details to come early spring 2018.

The action takes place both on and offstage, bringing the streets to life during the day and after the evening shows have ended. Highlights include master classes with rock and pop artists, an educational initiative rarely offered by other festivals; and city-wide pop-up concerts by prominent artists. In addition, the Festival is committed to promoting the visibility of new voices. An ongoing contest for emerging artists titled Les Apéros FEQ is currently running at the District Saint-Joseph venue through May 2018. Performances are FREE to the public and judges from the Festival and other organizations will select four new talents to play the Fibe Stage this summer. Each of the four finalists will receive a $1,000 CAN prize. The ultimate winner, selected by the audience and the jury, will receive a total prize of $7,000 CAN and a performance date at the Festival. In addition, the Les Nuits FEQ series at the Imperial Bell Theater showcases Québécois and Canadian talent, keeping the Festival alive throughout the year.

Since Festival d’été de Québec began in 1968, visitors have been treated to a line-up of stars including Iggy Azalea, Backstreet Boys, Sheryl Crow, Duran Duran, P!NK, Metallica, Sting & Peter Gabriel, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, and Keith Urban, among a list of big names too long to list here. The artist roster for Festival d’été de Québec 2018 will be no exception.

Each year visitors also come for the marvelous Québec cuisine, its European culture and North American lifestyle, the old-world charm of its well-preserved UNESCO site (founded in 1608, it’s the only fortified city north of Mexico), a range of accommodations from luxury hotels to cozy B & B’s, and its easy accessibility by air and ground for travelers. Eating well is part of the lifestyle and its sidewalk cafes and bistros, its wines, cheeses, and artisan microbreweries, and more than 100 restaurants in Old Québec City alone are there to be discovered. As the Festival’s performances take place in the evenings, during the day festivalgoers can enjoy the parks and scenic attractions that are minutes away from town, along with cycling, hiking, and a host of other outdoor activities.
