Marriott International’s modern essentials and extended stay brands lead the industry according to the recently released Business Travel News’ (BTN) 2014 Hotel Chain Survey. Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott earned top honors in their respective categories of the industry leading survey, which is a testament to both power brands’ focus on innovation, guest satisfaction and global development.

“I am truly proud of all those involved in making Courtyard and Residence Inn the most admired hotel brands among travelers,” said Janis Milham, senior vice president, modern essential & extended stay brand management. “We constantly evolve the design and service of our brands to meet the 6a0128763ee05d970c01bb079e14eb970d-800wichanging demands of guests. From technology to layout of the lobbies, we listen to customers. Both brands were the pioneers of their lodging segment and it is indeed rewarding and a testament to them that they rank top of class.”

Every year, BTN asks business travel buyers to rate the hotel brands with which they conduct business. This year, Courtyard gained its spot at the top, ranked by surveyors as the number one hotel brand in the upscale tier. Courtyard was also ranked number one in most of the survey categories, used to determine the final ranking: arranging group travel, data quality, helpful/courteous service, physical appearance, public business amenities, in-room business amenities, overall price/value.

According to the survey, Residence Inn was named number one overall in the extended stay upscale tier and also number one in all but one of the survey categories: sales staff, consistency, corporate rate programs, quality of data, helpful/courteous service, physical appearance, in-room business amenities, in-room personal amenities and overall price/value.

In addition, SpringHill Suites by Marriott and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott ranked considerably well in the survey, showing continual popularity among guests for Marriott’s select service portfolio.
