Tocoincide with the approach of the autumn festivities, Europe’s leader in designer outlet retailing, McArthurGlen, is launching a seasonal promotion of special prizes and savings for Chinese shoppers.
The ‘scratch-and-win’ prizes at the 13 participating flagship McArthurGlen Designer Outlets include a €1,000 or £700 Gift Card to be won at each of the centres, as well as thousands of Travel Gift Sets from exclusive French beauty brand, L’Occitane.
This special promotion, which starts on 26 September, is part of McArthurGlen’s latest campaign,the Wonders of Autumn.
Chinese shoppers will be able to download a voucher by ‘Following’ or ‘Liking’ McArthurGlen on WeChat or Weibo, or visiting www.mcarthurglen.com/cn/WOA. This voucher can then be exchanged at the customer service desks at any one of the 13 participating flagship centres for a McArthurGlen Wonders of Autumn Welcome Pack. This pack will include:
- The McArthurGlen Fashion Passport, offering an additional 10% saving.
- For those spending over €300/£200 in a minimum of three different stores at one centre, this will offer them the chance to enter a ‘scratch-and win’ draw with prizes of:
- €1,000 or £700 McArthurGlen Gift Card – 13 in all, one for each centre.
- And then for centres in Austria, German, Holland and the UK, additional prizes of:
- A Travel Gift Set from exclusive French beauty brand L’Occitane.
In addition, McArthurGlen has teamed up with Alipay, China’s leading third-party online payment service, to offer Chinese shoppers visiting the participating Designer Outlets a chance to collect bonus points upon receiving their tax refunds on their tax-free purchases at McArthurGlen’s centres.
The Chinese shopper is the most important non-European Union shopper at McArthurGlen’s 20 Designer Outlets across Europe. Sales to Chinese shoppers rose by 80% over the first six months of 2015.

As part of reaching out to the Chinese traveller, McArthurGlen works closely with their offices in Shanghai and Beijing to engage the Chinese traveller before they leave home, and then through their regional and centre-level tourism teams once the Chinese traveller arrives in Europe.
