McArthurGlen Vancouver Breaks Footfall Records With One-millionth Shopper Within Three Short Months

Coming off the heels of a remarkable opening weekend in July 2015 that drew 170,000 shoppers, McArthurGlen Vancouver breaks another footfall record, hitting the one-millionth-shopper mark in three short months. This reinforces the commercial success of the Designer Outlet making it the most successful opening to-date within the McArthurGlen Group that operates over 20 centres across eight countries in Europe.


In addition to substantial footfall figures, several brands within the centre have become top performers within their respective portfolios indicating a strong translation of footfall figures to sales.

“We’re thrilled by the overwhelming response we’ve seen from shoppers who have clearly embraced our European day-out shopping concept,” says Robert Thurlow, General Manager of McArthurGlen Vancouver. “Here on, we’re focussed on building upon that success to create an ever better, premium shopping experience for both locals and tourists alike.”

Visitors can expect additional openings to continue throughout fall and the holiday season on both the food and fashion fronts. Local Italian restaurant Bibo is set to open this October with Noodlehouse and Ryuu Izakaya following shortly thereafter. The fashion and lifestyle brand roster will also see a boost with notable openings including Brooks Brothers, Columbia Sportswear and Zwilling, all expected to open their doors before the busy holiday season.

Additionally, the Designer Outlet will be partnering with Europe’s leading vintage collector, Angelo Caroli, to bring a vintage luxury pop-up boutique and exhibit to Vancouver on October 8th, featuring some of the world’s most sought after vintage fashions and accessories from luxury designers including Chanel, Hermes, Emilio Pucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton and more. The A.N.G.E.L.O. pop-up will run throughout the holiday season and come to an end on December 31st, 2015.
