Mediterranean Yacht Expeditions Join Globus Europe Program

September 19, 2013 Cruise No Comments Email Email

Globus will set sail on the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean next year, introducing a range of boutique yacht expeditions from Greece and Italy as part of its 2014 program of European holidays.

Available now, the new 2014 Globus Europe brochure features more than 70 premium tours, including four brand new itineraries and a host of new experiences.

Earlybird discounts of 10 per cent are available on tours booked and paid 12 months or more in advance, while a choice of new fly-tour deals offer return airfares from as little as $1460.

The new yacht expeditions are aboard stylish 25-cabin vessels operated by Variety Cruises, including the modern motor cruisers Voyager and Harmony V and the majestic three-masted sail cruiser Panorama.

Travellers can choose from several different week-long cruises as part of wider land itineraries, including the 15-day Classical Greece with Continental Odyssey Cruise (from $4529* per person twin share), which visits ancient landmarks of Athens and mainland Greece before setting out by sea to explore islands including Mykonos, Santorini and Crete.

Panorama Sailing emailOther options include the 15-day Classical Greece with Adriatic Odyssey Cruise which explores mainland Greece and Corfu before sailing to Albania, Montenegro and Croatia (from $4319*), and the 16-day Italian Tapestry which visits the great cities of Italy before cruising from Salerno to Capri, Sicily and Malta (from $6298*).

Globus Marketing Manager Australasia Christian Schweitzer said 2014 was expected to be another strong year for Europe tours after the 17 per cent growth experienced in the current season.

“All signs are that demand will remain strong in the Australian market,” Mr Schweitzer said. “We plan to capture that demand by offering excellent quality with competitive pricing throughout the season, not just during sale periods.”

Mr Schweitzer said the recent introduction of pre-paid optional excursions had been a huge success for Globus and would be offered throughout 2014.  The system provides extra commission for agencies and allows travellers to tailor their holiday and pay in Australian dollars before departure.

New land tours introduced for 2014 include the 12-day Lisbon and Northern Spain (from $2289*), the 16-day Beautiful France (from $4319*), the eight-day Italian Vista (from $1619*) and the nine-day Ukraine & Crimea (from $3679*). Other additions include new extensions among the battlefields of France, including the Somme, Fromelles and the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux.

Travellers who book a Globus 2014 Europe holiday before October 31, 2013 can also take advantage of great earlybird fare offers, with prices starting from $1460 per person for a return economy flight with Cathay Pacific to Milan from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide or Cairns.

Further savings are available for Journeys Club repeat travellers, groups of five or more people and for multiple-tour bookings.
