EGT mediaTVLeanne Coddington was the acting CEO of Tourism and Events Queensland for some time until her formal appointment as the CEO, with in her previous roles having played an important role in tourism in Queensland and especially the state’s tourism  reinvigoration.

When appointed Brisbane-raised, Ms Coddington who has worked in various positions within the former Tourism Queensland, even as acting CEO twice, after working in hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, she said the industry was well on the way towards achieving an ambitious State Government target of generating $30 billion towards the economy by 2020, but there was no room for complacency.

She said Queensland should be aiming to become the nation’s top tourism state, a title traditionally held by NSW thanks largely to the many attractions of the nation’s biggest city and the large number of travellers who start their Australian holidays there.
