To provide a fresh experience to potential buyers that might organize corporate meetings in Taiwan, MEET TAIWAN launched an online to offline (O2O) Fam Tour program with the characteristics of Taiwan’s splendid ocean this early June. During the round-island-tour MEET TAIWAN provided the 11 Chinese MICE representatives with a thorough introduction to Taiwan’s MICE resources, building up further partnerships across the strait.
As the power of innovation prevails, key MICE players has been devoting itself into applying the latest technology in MICE activities. Technological advancement in MICE industry can be seen in different categories from environmental protection to community engagement, making MICE a more efficient and interacting industry. The design of the Fam Tour is an upgraded version from last year, MEET TAIWAN developed the “Ocean Challenge” Fam Tour App to activate more interaction between the attendants and the environment around them.
As a MICE guide exclusively for MEET TAIWAN’s “Ocean Challenge” guests, the Fam Tour App gathered all information in just one App, ranging from itineraries, maps, to database for tourist attractions. The Fam Tour App changed the traditional way of attending tour trips, by encouraging deeper participation into activities and closer team work to conquer every challenge assigned by the App. After finishing the tasks, the attendants have to share their memories by posting photos or videos on their social media through the App, which helped create an ever-lasting memory and amplified the Ocean Challenge Fam Tour over the world. In addition, the App is also a practical tool with complete Taiwan MICE information that can be re-visited after the Fam Tour.
“Ocean Challenge”, the first-ever themed Fam Tour for Taiwan inviting the corporate representatives to feel the power of ocean and have a solid understanding of Taiwan’s MICE offerings. Since Taiwan is surrounded with the mysterious ocean full of possibilities, it is a great chance for travelers to experience the harmony and beauty of how Taiwanese culture interacts with it. As a result, MEET TAIWAN added a little flavor of ocean in every aspect of experiencing Taiwanese folk life, from delicious seafood stall to a cozy walk on the beach, the itinerary not only covered the coastal life in Kaohsiung and Kenting, but also the urban life style of Taipei. The visit to Kaohsiung Exhibition Center also demonstrated the perfect combination of MICE activity and surrounding landmarks or geographical environments.
Another highlight of the Fam Tour was the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program took place at Mudan Elementary School, Taitung. Since music is a key of the aboriginal culture, the buyers donated Ukuleles to the students and held “Dance and Sing” program, which encouraged the students to create more impressive and passionate performances with their music talent. Through the activities students were able to bath in different cultures and have a wider vision toward the world, making the program more meaningful. The CSR event was designed exclusively for MEET TAIWAN’s guests, in addition, the interaction between MICE professionals and the local community made the Fam Tour an unforgettable memory. Buyers were surprised at the engagement with local organizations including elementary schools and aboriginal tribes, which not only introduced diverse team building activities and itineraries, but also invited companies to deliver CSR events in their corporate meetings; hence leaving a positive and long-lasting impression on both sides.
