It was the first time that both central and local government administrations of Taiwan joined with MEET TAIWAN to gather Taiwan’s MICE industry players for an IMEX showcase. Top-down support from administrations included the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Taipei City Government, and the Kaohsiung City Government, highlighting the investment of Taiwanese authorities to maximize the country’s MICE industry influence of global corporate travel decision makers via the world’s largest MICE exhibition.
Eva Airways, China Airlines, Grand Hyatt Taipei, and other Taiwanese exhibitors including 5-star hotels, exhibition and conference centers, destination management companies, and professional conference organizations all presented their best MICE offerings at the Taiwan Pavilion. The pavilion featured sky lanterns, a cultural craft demonstration, dragon beard candy, and CSR-themed online games to infuse visitors with authentic tastes of Taiwan. More than 260 business talks were arranged with global buyers. A “Taiwan Happy Hour” enabled buyers to connect with Taiwanese MICE delegates in a casual setting.
