Developing local talent is a major component of corporate social responsibility at Melco Resorts & Entertainment (Nasdaq: MLCO). The Company’s signature “Dare to Dream” series creates inspirational opportunities for aspiring youths by enabling exposure to renowned world-class maestros of various fields in creative arts.  Melco’s latest Dare to Dream artist is Mr. Barney Cheng, designer to the celebrities, featured in Forbes 2010 list of “25 most influential Chinese in Global Fashion”, and Director of Yenrabi creative studio, Hong Kong. Mr. Cheng is the designer behind employee uniforms of the recently-opened Morpheus hotel, which includes couture collections in custom made fabrics. Employees expressed their extreme pride to be wearing Barney Cheng designs.

In cooperation with The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), graduate and aspiring fashion designer, Ms. Ella Lei, winner of Melco’s “Dare to Dream” competition, was selected for an internship with Mr. Cheng. Commenting on the internship, Ms. Lei said, “This has been an incredible opportunity for me to gain hands-on experience in custom design blueprint and to learn about international haute couture production. It has been a catapult in kick-starting my career in fashion, providing essential knowledge for developing my own fashion brand. My heartfelt appreciation goes to Barney, who has been hugely influential and a fantastic mentor. I’d also like to thank Melco and CPTTM, without which none of this would be possible. I am excited to be able to share my ‘Dare to Dream’ experience with my fellow schoolmates at CPTTM.”

Launched in 2012, “Dare to Dream” is a key signature program with aim to inspire and nurture young talent in art and innovation. The program has gained worldwide support from iconic creative legends, including collaborations with the late “Queen of the Curve”, architect Dame Zaha Hadid DBE, Mr. Franco Dragone, the creative genius behind the award-winning water-based theatrical experience “The House of Dancing Water”, and Mr. Yundi Li, the internationally-acclaimed pianist.
