Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is proud to showcase its industry expertise at the upcoming IMEX America 2013 tradeshow in Las Vegas this October.

As the strategic partner and premier education provider of IMEX America, MPI will deliver best-in-class professional development opportunities as part of its signature Smart Monday program and its presentation of keynote speakers for the general sessions. In addition, the MPI Foundation will host Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night — a fundraising and networking event.

Scheduled before the start of the exhibition on October 14, Smart Monday Powered by MPI will feature more than 20 education and deep dive sessions. Topics include strategic meetings management, hybrid meetings, leadership development and international communications. Attendees can earn up to 4.75 clock hours if they attend a session in every concurrent time slot that day. Online registration for this complimentary program is now open.

“MPI is thrilled to return as the strategic partner and premier education provider of IMEX America this year. As this tradeshow has grown, we have been able to reach and positively impact the careers of more and more meeting professionals – which are testaments to the success of our collaboration with IMEX,” said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of MPI.

This year MPI has four dynamic and influential keynote speakers slated for each morning of IMEX America. These sessions are designed to deliver inspiration and provide valuable knowledge to attendees. Following are more details on the speakers and general sessions.

Stacey Hanke – Speak to be Heard
Communications expert Stacey Hanke will help eliminate the static that plagues communicative delivery—to persuade, sell ideas, influence or simply effectively communicate face-to-face with a clear message. She will explain the positive actions professionals can take to increase their impact and value to peers, clients and associates.

She will provide a four-part model for methodically tackling the tough issues and explore what great leaders do to inspire teams to stay in the game and thrive.

Wednesday, October 16
Jenn Lim – Take Your Event from Informational to Inspirational
Jenn Lim will share stories from her experience as a Zappos consultant and how she is working to nudge the world to be a happier place. This CEO & Chief Happiness Officer of Delivering Happiness will discuss how happiness can be used as a business model for any industry or environment.

Thursday, October 17
Devon Harris – Be Inspired. Get Motivated and Keep…On…PUSHING!
Author Devon Harris will bring this message of how everyone can keep on pushing and working for their dreams every day of their personal and professional lives. He will share lessons from his experience with the first Jamaican bobsled team as well as tools that professionals can immediately apply to their lives in order to reach higher levels of success.

MPI will also present educational sessions throughout the show floor October 15-17. Attendees are encouraged to stop by the MPI booth (#3309) to network, participate in book signings and learn more about MPI education, research and membership.

In addition, the MPI Foundation will host Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night on Wednesday evening, October 16, at the PURE Nightclub at Caesars Palace. This signature fundraising event is ideal for networking and will feature recording artist Suzie McNeil who will perform Top 40 pop and rock favorites and her own chart-topping hits. All funds raised from the event are invested in scholarships, grants and pan-industry research – all of which help secure the future success of the meeting and event industry.
