Thanks so much to those who provided us with suggestions on individuals to interview as part of Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC) Telling Our Story communications initiative. This is just a reminder for anyone that would still like to submit contacts, to do so by November 15th.

Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC) is currently crafting our communications strategy to effectively tell our story and clearly illustrate the power of meetings on both an economic and personal level. In order to achieve this, we will be creating a video series that highlights three different levels of stakeholders.

Video conversations will be conducted with individuals from the following categories:

  • Corporate CEOs – illustrating how meetings positively affect their businesses.
  • The Canadian worker – individuals not directly tied to our industry, but benefit by meetings and large conferences (taxi drivers, restaurant workers, housekeepers, local shop owners etc.).
  • Meetings Industry Leaders – discussing the powerful economics, statistics, etc.

We are preparing a storyboard that will showcase these conversations, intermixed with economic statistics. The goal for phase one is to have video conversations with three individuals from each of the above categories. These videos will be utilized at conferences, on websites, and in social media campaigns to educate government officials along with other industries positively impacted by meetings.

In concurrent phases, we will continue adding video clips, building a robust library of compelling content. A future goal is to produce an interactive map of Canada that will showcase three videos (one from each category) for each province (see attached for further details).

MMBC’s ask of you is to provide us with referrals/suggested individuals to have conversations with (must fall into three categories). Please provide us with one to three key contacts within your communities that we could set up a video conversation with.

Please submit your contacts/suggestions to Debbie van der Beek debbie@ignitemag.ca by November 15, 2018. If you have any questions on the types of individuals we are looking to interview please call Debbie at 905-582-5926 for further clarity.

It is our responsibility to stop talking to ourselves and start reaching beyond our industry walls to educate, create awareness, and showcase the tremendous economic and social impact that meetings create on communities and individuals.

We have a powerful story to share, so let’s work together to put meetings front and center on the worlds stage.
