SYDNEY, Set to ignite the Aloha spirit within 50 travel agents from Australia and New Zealand, the Experience Aloha Hawai‘i Mega Famil will run from 27 – 31 October 2018 on the islands of Kaua‘i, Maui, O‘ahu and the Island of Hawai‘i. http://www.tourismthailand.org/landing/landing_en.html

With close to 200 applications from travel agents throughout Australia and New Zealand, HTO and Hawaiian Airlines selected 50 agents to travel on the four day island adventure.

Giselle Radulovic, Country Manager Australia for HTO said that it was important to portray the variety of activities on each of the islands.

“Our focus is to demonstrate the experiential value of multi-island holidays. With Hawaiian Airlines, it’s easy to take short trips between the neighbour islands and see more of what Hawai‘i has to offer,” Ms Radulovic said.

Each island itinerary has been carefully crafted to highlight its distinct environment, with representatives from each island visitor bureau assisting in putting together the best experiences from their island.

Jetting off on 27 October 2018, the agents will fly internationally and to neighbour islands with Hawaiian Airlines, enjoying four nights’ accommodation at a range of Hawaiian resorts and hotels.

Karen Macmillan, Acting Country Director Australia for Hawaiian Airlines said that the Mega Famil was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the airline’s connectivity between the Hawaiian Islands.

“As the airline of Hawaii, we’re delighted to be flying our Mega Famil agents to Hawaii and we look forward to warmly welcoming them on board our international and neighbour island flights.

“It’s a wonderful chance to support those in the industry who help bring more visitors to our homeland and to enable agents to experience Hawaii and flying Hawaiian Airlines, first hand,” Ms Macmillan said.

Close to 60% of Australian consumers use travel agents to book Hawaiian holidays, highlighting the importance for trade partners to evolve their knowledge and increase their expertise.

Alicia Palmer, Travel Trade Executive for HTO, said that it was encouraging to see so many agents taking up the opportunity to experience more of Hawai‘i.

“We are thrilled with the amount of interest the Mega Famil has received and are looking forward to introducing agents to the Hawaiian Islands first-hand, showcasing the depth of experiences on each island.

“With each of the neighbour islands offering a completely unique experience to travellers, we are eager to show agents the diversity of a Hawaiian holiday,” Ms Palmer said.

Applications for the Mega Famil opened in August, with travel agents required to complete a Hawai‘i e-learning module, sell 4 x Hawaiian Airlines International return tickets and register online to go in the draw.
