Melbourne Cup Winner to Address Major Tourism Conference
Melbourne Cup winner, Michelle Payne, will address a major tourism conference in Sydney this Wednesday to talk about her personal journey to achieve the ultimate racing success.
As the first woman to win the Melbourne Cup in its 155 year history, Michelle has taken resilience to a new level and her message is one of the most inspirational Australian stories of the year.
“We are very excited and humbled to have Michelle take the time out of her busy schedule to speak with our industry and its leaders this week,” ATEC Managing Director, Peter Shelley said today.
“Like Michelle, many people in the tourism industry have taken on challenges and significant obstacles in achieving success.
“Michelle’s story, which is defined by her persistence, determination and her will to win are relatable and transferable messages which can be applied in both a business and a personal context.
“Michelle not only has a strong, fighting spirit, but she has humility, graciousness and a commitment to the end goal that we can all learn from.”
Michelle will join around 400 tourism industry leaders, along with other speakers, on Wednesday 2nd December at Randwick Racecourse for the Australian Tourism Export Council’s annual conference titled Raising the Stakes – Growing Australia’s Share of Global Tourism.
