Dogs hungry for a weekend away will get a taste of regional Victoria at the annual HOWL-O-WEEN Paw Parade in Port Melbourne on Sunday morning.Visit Victoria has partnered with Bendigo-based Wally’s Dog Café to offer local pooches an opportunity to indulge in dog-friendly treats, including pupuccinos, doguccinos, pupcakes, doggy doughnuts, doggy lamingtons and dog beer.

The mobile dog food truck will be on hand when hundreds of Melbourne’s doggos in fancy dress descend on the bay-side suburb for the biggest Doggy Trick or Treat.

Launched in October 2017, Wally’s Dog Café has been satisfying poochie palates for the last 12 months across dog parks in the central Victoria with treats designed for canine digestion systems.

The activation will continue Visit Victoria’s world-first marketing initiative that highlights the extensive range of dog-friendly short breaks in regional Victoria with content optimised to stimulate doggy sense.

Your Dog’s Happy Space, the first digital tourism campaign of its kind, has been curated and developed for dog’s sight and sound with the saturation of colours and inclusion of audible sounds.

As part of the overarching Your Happy Space regional Victorian marketing campaign, the humans at Visit Victoria have recognised that the 65% of the population in the State who own dogs find it more difficult to take regular short-breaks.

The initiative points out that dog-cations don’t require humans to ruff it, there are plenty of quality experiences on offer in regional Victoria specifically catering for canines and their owners.

Trips away together not only saves humans money on the costs of a kennel but can have positive wellbeing benefits for both human and pet.
