Melco Resorts & Entertainment is committed to environmental sustainability as one of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) priorities.

Supporting Macao SAR Government efforts to promote environmental awareness in the community, Melco is pleased to participate in Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM)’s 38thMacao Green Week. The company’s floral design team created and maintained a butterfly garden-themed creative display of 10m x 5m featuring over 11 types of seasonal flowers, including Cosmos, Begonia, Hydrangea, Antirrhinum, Kalanchoe, Verbena, Dianthus, Limonium, Campanula, Senecio and Chrysanthemum. The display is part of Green Week Carnival held at Tap Seac Square from 16-24 March. Coinciding with Macao Green Week, Melco has further organized environmental awareness activities such as charity walks, planting days, recycling programs and educational roadshows with support from its trusted community partners.

Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, said, “As a socially responsible integrated resort operator deeply rooted in Macau, Melco fully supports the SAR government’s goals to nurture and encourage environmental awareness as a vision that also resonates strongly with Melco’s pledge to sustainability. We feel honored and grateful for IAM’s invitation to Melco, enabling us to join such a meaningful event with wide-reaching environmental objectives. Melco strives to develop and continue implementing innovative green infrastructures and strategies in sustainability to benefit the local community and contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area.”

Mr. José Tavares, President of IAM, commented: “IAM is grateful for Melco’s continued support towards the bureau’s efforts in promoting environmental sustainability. Further to IAM’s recent collaborative tree-planting event with the Melco volunteer team, the company has become the first local integrated resorts operator to participate in Macao Green Week. Melco’s floral exhibit design is highly original and well-suited to this year’s theme Flying Butterflies across the Green City. We encourage locals and visitors to come along to enjoy the exhibitions, and to better understand and appreciate the importance of environmental conservation.”

Macao Green Week is hosted by IAM in collaboration with other local groups every March. Other Macao Green Week happenings at Tap Seac Square include floristry and garden landscaping competitions, award-winning work displays, educational booths and plant giveaways, as well as exhibits from Melco and other organizations such as community groups and institutions.
