Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited (NASDAQ: MLCO), a developer, owner and operator of gaming and entertainment resort facilities in Asia, achieved multiple awards in the prestigious Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) Culinary Challenge 2018 held in Singapore this April. With strong competition from United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and Singapore, the Melco Culinary Team was Macau’s only Gold Medal winner and Overall First Runner-Up in this year’s Gourmet Team Challenge. Furthermore, in the Individual Challenge category, Melco Culinary Team members achieved:

·         One Gold Medal in Cold Display Tapas

·         Three Silver Medals in Cold Display Appetizer, Dessert and “Dress the Cake” Pastry Art

·         Two Bronze Medals in Hot Cooking Challenge and Pralines Pastry Art

Riding on the achievement at the FHA Culinary Challenge 2018, the Melco Culinary Team has been invited to represent Macau in the IKA/Culinary Olympics 2020, the largest “by invitation only” international professional competition for chefs, cooks and pastry chefs to be held in Stuttgart, Germany in February 2020. This will be the first time Macau is represented in the competition.

The FHA Culinary Challenge is widely recognized as Asia’s most prestigious and challenging culinary competition, attracting 800 of the best talent from across Asia to showcase their skills and earn accreditation. Endorsed by the World Association of Chef Societies (WACS) and regional chef associations, the biennial competition promotes culinary excellence and is judged according to the highest international standards by a panel of globally acclaimed chefs.

The Melco Culinary Team has earned numerous worldwide recognitions for its dedication in delivering the best dining experiences. The team was awarded Gold Medal and Overall Champion in the Gourmet Team Challenge at HOFEX Hong Kong in 2011 and 2013. It won the Gold Medal with First Runner-up for the FHA Singapore’s Gourmet Team Challenge in 2014 and 2018. The team also garnered a number of other highly prestigious awards including Forbes Five-Star ratings for Altira Macau’s Aurora and Tenmasa; and City of Dreams’ Jade Dragon, Shinji by Kanesaka and The Tasting Room. Melco also boasts the most Michelin-starred restaurants in Macau.
