Mercure Takeover For North Melbourne

July 16, 2013 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

Accor has grown its Melbourne hotel network with the addition of a Mercure in the north of the Victorian capital.

The 70-room, former Rydges North Melbourne hotel has been rebranded to Mercure North Melbourne. Located conveniently close to the centre of Melbourne, the hotel includes two food and beverage outlets, three meeting rooms and a swimming pool, providing contemporary, comfortable accommodation for business and leisure travellers.

“This positive new addition to the growing network of Accor hotels in Victoria will offer even more choice for visitors to Melbourne when choosing their accommodation,” said Mercure North Melbourne General Manager, Wayne Woods.

“With Melbourne the events capital of Australia, the new Mercure is in prime position to take full advantage of vicinities close by, such as Melbourne Zoo, Etihad Stadium and Flemington Race Course, but without the inner city hustle and bustle, which is just a short tram ride away.”

The re-branding of the hotel will be significant for the hotel as Mercure is one of Australia’s – and the world’s – leading mid-market hotel brands.

The addition of Mercure North Melbourne brings the total of Mercure hotels in Victoria to over 10 and more than 40 Mercure hotels across Australia.

Mercure North Melbourne is located corner Flemington Road and Harker Street, North Melbourne.
