_MG_6094Metro Hotel Ipswich International’s newly renamed restaurant ‘Harvest Restaurant & Bar’ was chosen by Queensland Times as the venue for its first QT Club degustation dinner, an event designed to showcase the fine food and wine available in Ipswich.

The 7 course degustation dinner prepared by the hotel’s resident chef was limited to just 40 guests who paid $105 per head to attend, with money raised on the evening going to support the Ipswich West Special School.

The dinners are designed to showcase the best restaurants in Ipswich and to introduce some of the most innovative winemakers in the country to the local area.  Ewen McPherson, owner of the James Halliday five-star rated Symphony Hills wines, from Queensland’s Granite Belt, was present on the night to match a selection of rare and award-winning wines – such as his 2015 Gewurztraminer and 2013 Reserve Lagrein, to the seven course tasting menu.

Metro Hotel Ipswich International takes every opportunity to increase the attraction of Queensland’s largest regional city.  General Manager Earl Muir said the QT Club degustation dinner was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the fine food and wines in the region and, at the same time, support a worthy local charity.

“Metro Hotel Ipswich International has developed a strong reputation as an active and supportive member of the Ipswich community, helping local schools and businesses,” Mr Muir said. “In this instance, we were delighted to lend our support to raising much-needed funds for the Ipswich West Special School.”

Mayor of Ipswich Paul Pisasale and coaches Ben and Shane Walker from the championship-winning Ipswich Jets Rugby League Club were among the 40 guests who attended the dinner.
