Metro Hotel Perth turns Pink in support of Breast Cancer Month

Metro Hotel Perth, a well-known landmark on Perth’s skyline, will be lit in Pink for the month of October as part of Global Illumination 2013, in partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. 

Global Illumination is an international campaign run by the Estee Lauder Companies that officially launches Pink Ribbon month in October – internationally recognised as breast cancer month. Every October, thousands of individuals, families, schools and businesses from across the globe focus Metro Hotel Perth turns pinkon the impact of breast cancer and help raise funds for vital research into its prevention, detection and treatment. Now in its eighth year, the campaign has raised over $3 million for breast cancer research.

Metro Hotel Perth General Manager, Cheryle Irvin, said all staff at the hotel will wear pink on Pink Ribbon Day, October 27, and the hotel is planning to host a pink afternoon tea that day to raise money for breast cancer research.

Metro Hotel Perth has commenced a major redevelopment of the property, which will add a new wing of 53 rooms and include renovations to the lobby area of the hotel, pool area, restaurant and car park.

Situated on the south side of Perth just 10 minutes drive from the CBD, Metro Hotel Perth enjoys a prime vantage point on the south side of the Swan River.  The rooms are much larger than the average hotel room, many with private balconies, and 70 currently overlooking the scenic Swan River.  The hotel has seven conference rooms with a seating capacity for 200 people, its own licensed restaurant and bar, an outdoor swimming pool and parking.
