Recently in France, Michelin Travel Partner has signed a partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the promotion of worldwide tourism and gastronomic experiences of Thailand through the publication of The MICHELIN Guide Bangkok. Pictured at the event (from left to right) are Marc Vayssiere, Director of Michelin Travel Partner; Segsarn Trai-Ukos, Country Director of Michelin Siam Co., Ltd.; Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; and Supranee Pongpat, Executive Director for Advertising and Public Relations of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Through this partnership, Thailand will become the second country in Southeast Asia (after Singapore), and the sixth country in Asia (after Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong), to have its own MICHELIN Guide.

The ‘MICHELIN Guide’ has become an international benchmark in fine dining, due to its rigorous selection process used for many decades, and applied independently and consistently around 25 countries. To fully assess the quality of a restaurant, five criteria are applied: product quality, preparation and flavor, the chef’s personality as revealed through his or her cuisine, value for money, and consistency over time and across the entire menu.
