Australian David Micheluzzi, currently number two in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, has signed with Lagardère Sports for management and marketing representation.

Micheluzzi’s team at Lagardère Sports will be led by Senior Vice President of Global Golf Clients Ben Harrison, with additional support from the agency’s office in Sydney, Australia.

Lagardère Sports will advise Micheluzzi as he continues his amateur career before he turns professional towards the end of the year and will manage his business thereafter.

Micheluzzi, one of Australia’s most dynamic amateur golfers, has played well in several professional tournaments finishing fifth at the 2018 Australian Open having led after 36 holes, and second at the 2018 Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Lagardère Sports as I prepare to begin my professional career,” said Micheluzzi, one of the pre-tournament favourites at this week’s US Amateur Championship. “With their leadership in golf and vast global scale, they are the perfect partner to join me as I take the next step in my career and begin competing on the professional level.”

The 23-year-old has won at the highest level of Amateur golf including; the 2018 Australian Master of the Amateurs and the 2017 Port Phillip Open Amateur and Victorian Amateur. Micheluzzi was also medallist at the 2019 Australian Amateur, with a record score of 16-under par, winning by seven shots. Most recently, Micheluzzi advanced to the semi-final at the British Amateur Championship, finishing third overall.
