Millennium Plaza Hotel Dubai, one of the luxury accommodations along Sheikh Zayed Road, received a bronze medal in the Cake Decoration category at the last Emirates Culinary Guild Salon Culinaire 2016.
Chef Janitha Chirantha, a true cake artisan was awarded Bronze Medal in the Practical Cake Decoration category. Chef Janitha displayed his mastery skills in the preparation and presentation of cake and its accoutrements. The awards, which are granted to top-notch individuals in the culinary sphere, are tested for their gastronomic and artistic acumen while also evaluated on timing, efficiency and collaboration.

The Emirates Salon Culinaire is a series of practical and display-based culinary competitions open to professional chefs, confectionary and bakers across the world. This annual competition is being held during Gulf-food Exhibition, the world’s biggest annual food and hospitality show at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Emirate Culinary Guild Salon Culinaire attracted over 1,300 young chefs aiming to become stars of the future, with a judging panel over 30 experts, each one of whom is an approved international judge of the World Association of Chefs’ Societies.
