MLC Centre Takes Part in Vivid Sydney

May 26, 2017 Whats On No Comments Email Email

MLC Centre is proud to be partnering with Vivid once again this year, with the Urban Tree 2.0 installation featured on the CTA building. The installation is a progression of Ample Project’s award-winning Urban Tree projection from Vivid Sydney 2014.

MLC Centre’s Urban Tree 2.0 will take viewers deep within an exotic forest eco-system, where rivers flow, plant-life grows and each night a giant glowing frog succeeds in catching a hiding caterpillar. It gives Vivid Sydney’s visitors a unique glimpse of how interdependent creatures and habitats share our delicate and beautiful planet.

“The UrbanTree 2.0 installation on the CTA façade highlights the importance of sustainability, which reflects the MLC Centre’s commitment to energy and water efficiency. We are proud that the CTA at MLC Centre is again part of Vivid this year, at the heart of the festival. Our feature in Vivid compliments our work to bring vibrancy to the area, for an experience you can’t find anywhere else.”

Gillian McAllister, General Manager of the MLC Centre and Graheme Gillespie, Owner of the Commercial Travellers’ Association of NSW, speak to the project and the message it conveys. In a joint statement, they assert that being involved with Vivid Sydney offers the MLC Centre the opportunity to demonstrate its role in the city.

Standing at No. 19 Martin Place, the MLC Centre’s Commercial Travellers Association (CTA) remains a stunning tribute to celebrated Sydney architect Harry Seidler. Vivid Sydney offers retailers and businesses at the MLC Centre the opportunity to demonstrate their role in the city.

MLC Centre’s Ambar will be celebrating Vivid with tapas items and an exclusive Vivid cocktail. Burger Project will also be involved, with extended opening hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays across the 23 day festival.

WHEN: Every night from 6pm to midnight, 26 May – 17 June, 2017.

WHERE: Martin Place, between George and Castlereagh streets.
