From the Chinese inspired cocktails in antique-style mugs to the modern Chinese bar snacks and apothecary cabinet feature wall, the hang out on Wellington Street, part of the new lifestyle destination Tycoon Tann, is perfect for an evening soiree with friends or colleagues to chill over cocktails, whisky and wine.

At Mod Bar, expect to try some unique cocktails by the experienced Bar Manager Jimmy Chung. He enjoys experimenting with different spices, food as well as Chinese ingredients and wines. He also believes that the perfect bar needs to have a wide selection of spirits and classics done perfectly. At Mod Bar, every guest is sure to find a drink that fits the mood.

For guests that want something fun and flirty, one of the new summer cocktails (priced at HKD120) will be the perfect thirst-quencher. Try the Rosemary Paradise made with house-infused rosemary gin, St. Germain, lime juice, white wine and pineapple juice, Sweet Bitters   a concoction of Aperol, Cointreau, lime juice, white wine and green apple juice, Port White which is a mix of brandy, Campari, Port wine, lemon juice white wine and sprite, Sloe gin Negnori, a combination of Sloe gin, Aperol, Campari and Bianco, or Rum & Fun a blend of white rum, Grand Marnier, lime juice and fruit tea.

After a long day of work, sometimes a whisky on the rocks or even neat is the only solution. At Mod Bar, guests are spoilt for choice with the wide selection, including blended whisky, Japanese whisky and single malt whisky. To add to the list, Mod Bar is the first in Hong Kong to include the complete collection of Kavalan Taiwanese whisky (eleven bottles) available by the glass, comprising the award-winning Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique (HKD235 per glass), which has beaten off competition from around the globe to be named the best single malt at 2015 World Whiskies Awards, as well asKavalan Solist Fino Sherry Cask (HKD265 per glass) and Single Malt Whisky (HKD105 per glass). For whisky connoisseurs, there are two Kavalan flights (standard: HKD450 & premium HKD580) to choose from.

Vodka lovers can indulge in the premium Russian brand, Legend of Kremlin, made from top quality grains and soft spring water. Not only can guests taste this reputed vodka at Tycoon Tann’s Mod Bar, but also at the Russian parliament should they be so lucky.

For a munch at the bar, ask Jimmy to help pair any drink with a selection of the bar snacks such as Tycoon Tann Dim Sum Platter (HKD 138) which includes Shrimp Dumpling with Pork and Elm Fungus, Abalone and Chicken Puff, Iberico Pork Dumpling with Scallop and Caviar, and Crab Meat Spring Roll stuffed with cheese, the Sliced Hungarian Mangalica Hogs Belly rolled with asparagus and garlic sauce (HKD 158) or Red Jelly Fish tossed with wasabi (HKD 128).
