RCL Cruises has announced the appointment of Cameron Mannix to the newly created role of Business Development Manager for Celebrity Cruises Australia and New Zealand, effective 1 April 2017.

As the company’s first dedicated Celebrity brand ambassador, Cameron will work with trade partners throughout Australia and New Zealand, bringing to life the modern luxury brand’s unique offerings across its current fleet of 12 ships – including Australia’s favourite cruise ship*, locally-based Celebrity Solstice. He’ll also champion brand new Celebrity Edge, a cruise design revolution revealed earlier this week and launching in 2018.

Cameron Mannix has over 11 years of experience in the cruise industry, most recently as District Sales Manager for Victoria & Tasmania, which has seen him nominated for Best Sales Executive at the 2017 National Travel Industry Awards. Before joining Royal Caribbean, Cameron worked as a travel agent, and as a performer on various cruise ships – giving him in-depth knowledge of the industry.

Wendy Anderson, currently RCL Cruises’ District Sales Manager NSW, has been appointed the new District Sales Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, effective 1 April 2017, based in Melbourne.  She too comes to the role with solid experience in the industry, with previous roles at Virgin Australia and One&Only Hayman. She also joins Cameron on the list of nominees for Best Sales Executive at this year’s National Travel Industry Awards.

“Passionate, outgoing and with a wealth of experience, Cameron is the perfect advocate for our modern luxury ships – his nickname within the company has actually been “Mr Celebrity” for quite some time. We’re excited to see him take the Celebrity Cruises brand to new heights in this new role, and further cement our commitment to the Australian and New Zealand market.” said Kathryn Valk, Director, Sales and Marketing, RCL Cruises Australia and New Zealand.

“Meanwhile, we’re incredibly pleased that Wendy will be making the move to Victoria, where she will continue to work across all three of our brands – including Royal Caribbean and Azamara Club Cruises. I extend my congratulations to both Wendy and Cameron wholeheartedly,” Valk concluded.
