momondo Launches New Version of Flight Search App, Improving User Interface, Design and Functionality, Adding Interactions
To meet the demands of its increasingly mobile audience, travel site momondo today unveiled a new version of its flights and hotels app, available now on iOS and later on Android. The refreshed app includes improvements to the user interface, design and functionality, along with the introduction of new interactions, reimagining the entire user experience.
momondo launched the improved mobile app in response to the steady growth it has seen in searches via the app, with click-throughs and bookings rising 89 percent year-on-year. This significant growth suggests users are not just better at surveying the market via their mobile devices, but are increasingly using them to book and pay for flights. Today, 60 percent of momondo’s users use the app at some point on their journey to searching for and booking flights and hotel.
With a cleaner layout and new swiping functionality, the innovative digital experience is structured around the user. The new version lets users pick up where they left off in the app during any search and even sign up on momondo via the app for a more personal experience, logging preferences. In addition, the app now provides more tailored and targeted flight and hotel searches, with enhanced filter options such as airline alliances, maximum travel times and hotel chains.
momondo Mobile Product Manager Pernille Trolle Brøgaard noted: “Based on our data, consumers are increasingly using mobile apps to plan their travel around the world. With the technology landscape evolving at such high speed, travelers are constantly seeking solutions that are not only progressive in nature, but at the same time provide a convenient and seamless travel booking experience. Our refreshed app will further improve the travelers’ user experience, enabling them to be their own best travel agent in finding the perfect flight or hotel even when they aren’t at their desk.”
The update is the first major change to the app’s design since 2014.
