More Afternoon Airtrain Services To Meet Passenger Demand

Brisbane’s Airtrain, the fastest, easiest and most cost-effective way to reach Brisbane city, the Gold Coast and suburbs from the airport, has improved customer wait times in the afternoon peak travel period with a service every 15 minutes thanks to new departures at 12:19, 12:49 and 1:19pm.

The timetable update coincided with the grand opening of the Redcliffe Peninsula Line on October 4th. This new connection opportunity means more Brisbanites than ever can take advantage of the Airtrain service to and from Brisbane Airport avoiding traffic jam woes.

Passengers using the new stations up to Kippa Ring can now book their airport transfer directly on the Airtrain website (

Chris Basche, CEO of Airtrain, says the new timetable and introduction of a new railway line in South-East Queensland is great news for commuters.

“We continuously review our offering at Airtrain to ensure we are delivering a value adding service to travellers. The change in schedule will alleviate congestion at the airport during the lunch time rush as well as putting customers in control of their travel plans.

“Research shows our customers love that we get them to and from the airport with fewer obstacles and uncertainties, and I am pleased that we can now extend the Airtrain product to the Redcliffe area,” Mr Basche said.

In order to accommodate these much needed services in the afternoon, three services have been rescheduled from the timetable in the quieter evening period, where trains will run every 30 minutes.
