Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts wishes all its guests a Merry “Swissmas”, a Christmas celebration full of Swiss charm and holiday spirit, and proudly presents a host of Swissmas activities in hotels across Asia during the festive season.
Guests can experience first-rate Swiss hospitality along with Festive events and activities from traditional advent calendars, festive feasts and Christmas cocktails, to decorated Christmas trees in hotel and resort lobbies, as well as children’s choirs, live Christmas carol performances, sweet festive treats and gifts for the children.
Children can truly enjoy Christmas this year and meet Mövenpick’s very own “Samichlaus” – the traditional Swiss Santa Claus, who will be welcoming guests on Christmas Day and visiting selected Mövenpick hotels across Asia including Cebu, Bangkok, Phuket and Hanoi.
At Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok, Samichlaus will decorate the Christmas tree with the children, giving the perfect photo opportunity to guests, young and old. Meanwhile, at Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi, children will have lots of fun with balloon artists and cookie decoration activities.Guests will also receive small Santa gift sacks filled with sweet souvenirs across a number of Mövenpick hotels.
There is no ‘Swissmas’ without gingerbread, and this year there will be a variety of different gingerbread treats to enjoy across the hotels in Asia. At Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, gingerbread cookies will be served complimentary to guests with all tea and coffee orders from 1 to 15 December and Mövenpick’s famed Chocolate Hour will also include chocolate gingerbread.
The traditional “Adventskranz”or Advent Wreath is a time-honoured Swiss tradition. It will be put on display to count down the weeks to Christmas with the first candle lit on 29 November. The remaining candle lighting ceremonies will take place on 6, 13 and 20 December at Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi and Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok.
In addition, Mövenpick Resort Bangtao BeachPhuket will place a large Advent Calendar display at the hotel lobby from 1 to 24 December. The calendar will carry a variety of Mövenpick Christmas surprises. The Palm Cuisine at Mövenpick ResortBangtao Beach Phuket will release 24 different riddles for guests every day during lunch and dinner. Anyone who solves the daily riddle will receive a golden opportunity to open the Advent Calendar. More Advent Calendar surprises and gifts will be available at Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi and Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok.
Christmas Tree Decorationsand lights will be displayed across all participating hotels. Meanwhile, Christmas tree decoration classes in the outdoor garden space of Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu will take place throughout December, to teach children how to handcraft their own bespoke ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree or take home as a memento from their Mövenpick Christmas experience.
At Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, theSwissmas Eve Dinner Buffet at Sails restaurant will include free-flow mulled wine and complimentary cookies and pralines in Christmas stockings. A Swissmas Bubbly Brunch with four traditional Swiss dishes will also be available with free-flow sparkling wine.
Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach Phuket will have six Christmas cocktails and mocktails, to be launched at the hotel’s main pool and the Palm Cuisine restaurant from 12 to 24 December. During the launch, all guests will be asked to dress in green and red to mark the festive season.
Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi will present a Christmas Eve buffet and Swissmas cheese fondue, seafood corner, carving meat station with Swissmas ham and turkey that can be enjoyed with the sounds of Christmas carols and magic show with complimentary mulled wine, which is called “Glühwein” in Switzerland.
Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok will present a festive brunch from 6 December and afour-course Christmas dinner in the ballroom, with entertainment by the Grand Opera Thailand, which will be performing opera and classic Christmas songs in the evening.
