The historic steam train will be host to members of the Washington State Civil War Association as they pose as citizens and soldiers from the Civil War era and re-enact historic events. This unique ride aboard the scenic railroad departs from the Elbe depot and travels to Mineral, WA. Tickets can be purchased at the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad website.

“The experience of being on the train close to the re-enactors is a great chance to learn about an important part of American history and have fun at the same time,” says Sgt. Clayton Ambrose Marbles, 2nd So. Carolina Volunteer Infantry.

This historic event taking place on Saturday September 21, 2013 will have three different departure times; 10 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Passengers will be taken back in history as they ride through the pristine hills of Mount Rainier. Guests will witness a short re-enactment of the Civil War as well as tour the restoration shops in Mineral, WA before returning to Elbe, WA.
