With a strong focus on continuous Advisor development and introducing MTA’s formal mentoring and workplace assistance programs, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents has commenced the roll out of its 2019 regional ‘2019 And Beyond Forums’ at The Langham Sydney.http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/

Attended by more than 80 MTA Advisors, the Sydney event is the first of four similar events with Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth scheduled to take place across April.

More than 350 Advisors are expected to attend along with 45 of MTA’s approved partners in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and 22 in Perth participating in supplier trade events at each venue.

Forum format in Sydney included a presentation by online retail, recruitment and social media expert Stuart Atkins.

In Perth MTA has recruited Australian world champion disabled swimmer and nine times Paralympic gold medallist Priya Cooper to deliver a motivational address.

Addressing Advisors in Sydney, MTA CEO, Don Beattie said the timing of the forums came at the tail end of a 12-month period which has proven one of the company’s most successful in its 19-year history.

This was particularly so, he said, from the perspective of industry recognition with MTA winning 19 national awards including being named ‘Best Travel Broker Network’ at the 2018 National Travel Industry Awards.

“Continuing to provide business development learning opportunities in support of our Advisors  remains a key focus for the company with 254 Advisors having attended regional training events in 2018 and a total of 128 now engaged in the ‘MTA Professional Plus’ program rolled out last October,” Mr Beattie said.

“The number of Advisors enrolled in Professional Plus is substantial given the commitment required to participate in this program on top of managing their day to day activity.”

Mr Beattie also drew reference to a soon to be introduced 12-month mentoring program which will see mentors and mentees ‘paired’ based on the development requirements of the mentee and the skills of mentors supported by an MTA-created program.

“In essence this program has been designed to support the professional development of MTA Advisors and help them develop the skills required to be successful in their MTA business,” Mr Beattie said.

“These forums present us with an excellent opportunity to provide and update the Advisors on the developments taking place as we approach our 20th anniversary in early 2020.

“They also provide a platform from which the Advisors can voice their opinions and provide valuable feedback which we see as essential as we continue to work in support of our expert travel Advisors.”
