mtatravelIn what represents his first major management initiative since joining MTA – Mobile Travel Agents in early September, new CEO Don Beattie has announced a re-designed monthly fee structure and a new reward/recognition earnings-based incentive scheme at the ‘MTA – more than expected’ themed national conference in Canberra on the weekend.

Building on the current support of the MTA Members Mr Beattie used his maiden appearance to announce a new, multi-tiered additional ‘Rewards & Recognition Programme’. MTA - Don Beattie - MTA National Conference October 2013

Structured across five levels – bronze, silver, gold, diamond and platinum – the new earnings-based scheme offers a slew of rewards.

These range from additional support offerings, website maintenance and enhancements, the waiving of monthly fees and no cost attendance at the annual conference, an annual client event and additional all expenses paid events.

“This reward programme reflects the culture of MTA which is focussed on producing quality, experiential rewards in conjunction with financial gains,” Mr Beattie said.

Making his official debut at an MTA gathering, Mr Beattie told the 180 conference attendees effective 01 January 2014, a new ‘across the board’ monthly fee of $150 inclusive of fully-supported websites would be implemented.

Current monthly fees are structured on a two-tiered basis with those MTA Members operating without a website option paying $120 a month.

MTA Members taking up the website option pay $199 per month.

Those MTA Members that currently have a fully maintained interactive website included in their package will have their fees reduced from $199 to $150 per month.

“Under the new scheme, fees will be set at a single $150 per month and will include the fully maintained, interactive website for each and every MTA Member,” Mr Beattie said.

“It’s a major and very positive step forward for everyone and will allow MTA Member’s customers to interact with them directly.”

MTA managing directors Roy and Karen Merricks hailed Mr Beattie’s first appearance in front of the MTA family as a major success.

“Straight off the bat Don has made an incredibly positive start to his MTA journey and been readily accepted on the team,” the Merricks said.

“His input into these two new initiatives and his stewardship of the management team charged with successfully implementing both programs are indicative of exactly why we have brought him on board.”
